Introduction
Our town, well known for its green credentials, is the target of a year-long campaign to ensure that every household is aware of the facts behind global warming. In this we’ll be working with the Sussex Express newspaper. Our job is to convince Lewes people that climate change is real and that we can all do something about it – it’s not too late. We aim to make Lewes a flagship town for climate change awareness.

One way we shall be doing that is to get as many people as possible see the Al Gore film An Inconvenient Truth
An Inconvenient Truth
or the recent BBC/David Attenborough programme Climate Change – Britain Under Threat.

We’re planning free screenings of the Gore film and a “library” of DVDs of the film and of the Attenborough programme for circulation to local people, clubs, organisations, schools, churches and as many other outlets as possible.

Lewes Climate Concern has the backing of its three local authorities and of MP Norman Baker. Our media partner is our local paper, the Sussex Express. Also supporting the campaigners are Transition Town Lewes, a positive local response to the challenges of climate change.
